1200 × 627 · Landscape
LinkedIn's native size. Fills the width of the feed on desktop, where most LinkedIn browsing still happens.
Download landscape

In 1983, people thought email was a fad. "Why would I need that? I have a phone."

I keep thinking about that, because I spent one day in June building my own AI assistant and it now handles my email, my follow-up, and half the things I used to do at 9pm.

I'm not a tech person. I just showed up and built it.

They're running it again in Charleston — August 18 and 19. 100 seats per date.

If you've been curious about this stuff and haven't known where to start, this is where I'd start.

In 1983, email was optional.

People said what people always say about new tools: "Why would I need that? I have a phone."

I've been thinking about that a lot, because in June I spent one day at a hands-on workshop and built my own AI assistant. It now triages my inbox, drafts my follow-up, and handles a meaningful chunk of what used to eat my evenings.

Two things surprised me:

1. I didn't need a technical background. I built the thing myself, in a day.
2. The value wasn't "AI." It was the two hours a day I got back.

The people who got email early didn't understand it either. They just got there first.
